:: Let's Get Out Of Here ::
This is my luggage tag.
This is my daughter's tag. This is her directing airplanes along with our dog, Lucy. LOL! She loves hockey too! Part of the tag was cut off but it says "hockey is life".
This is my son's tag. He is also directing the airplanes. And you guessed it...he likes football!
This tag is for my mom/the kids grandma. She likes purple :)
So we are heading back home this summer and the kids and I came up with this idea of making our own luggage tags. My intention was to get the self-laminating luggage tags, however, I didn't have any luck finding them at stores in our area. So I decided I would just take them to an office supply store and have them laminate them for me. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, because we used cardstock and had layers of cardstock for our designs, it wasn't so easy to laminate. The thickness caused some problems. It may not stay sealed on the edges once it goes through h*ll at the airport. But the worm to attach to the luggage should help it stay intact...hopefully :-)
There were lots of cartridges used in these tags so if anyone has questions, just leave a comment!

:: Thank You ::
This cute little thank you card was for a friend. The "thanks" and the flower are from the Walk In My Garden cartridge. I added coordinating ribbon along the top and added some dots to add something to the letters.

:: Etched Wine Glasses ::
I etched these wine glasses for friends that are roommates. They LOVE their wine and they LOVED their glasses! The initials are from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The designs on each side of letter are from Gypsy Wanderings.

:: Happy Birthday Heidi ::
This card was made for a friend that loves to shop, just like I do!! I thought the shoe was perfect for her! The card shape was cut from the Wild Card cartridge using the blackout feature. The shoe is from Paisley and the layer on the shoe was embossed using my Cuttlebug. "May All Your Wishes Come True" on the inside of the card and the flowers on the outside were from the Sweet Treats cartridge. Happy Birthday!

:: A Boy's Birthday Box ::
My kids were invited to a birthday party for a 9-year old boy. I was at a loss for what to buy and since I don't know what toys/games, etc he already owns, I opted for cold hard cash :-) To make it a little fun, I decided to fold the bill into a t-shirt. There are directions all over the internet on how to make origami shirts. Actually you can make just about anything using the origami technique. I then made a box using the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge. I put tissue paper in the box as if it was a shirt box (you know, like when you give gifts). Then I printed a poem on cardstock (instead of making an actual card) and then had my kids sign the bottom of the cardstock. The cardstock sat inside the box so when the box was opened the card was right on top!

My son (he is 11 yrs old) made this card for his dad/my husband for his Birthday. His birthday was in May so now you know how long I have been away from my blog ;-)

:: Where Have I Been? ::
Wow, where has the time gone? I haven't posted anything since Mother's Day? So I thought I would have all this time this summer, when the kids are on break, to do all sorts of crafting. Boy, was I wrong! I have been making things as I need them (cards and crafts, that is). My kids have made some things using my Cricut Expression so I will be posting their creations as well as some I have done recently. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

:: Mother's Day Card ::
This is a Mother's Day card I made for my mom. I used the flowers from the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. I guess I really like those flowers since I keep using them. The "Mom" is from Gypsy Font with letters welded together. It is very simple but I like simple designs!

:: Cupcake Birthday Card ::
This is a birthday card for an 8-year old girl. All elements used in the card were done with the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. "May all your wishes come true" is on the inside of the card. I added glitter to the icing on the cupcake and on the cherry.

:: Teacher Appreciation Gifts ::
I made candy jars for my kids teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. The jars were purchased at Ikea. The flowers and "hip, hip, hooray" are from the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. I cut the flowers in black and white vinyl for the jar and used paper for the gift bag and tag. The rest of the words are from the Cricut Old West cartridge. It's hard to see in the photo but the jar on the bottom left corner had vinyl letters using Cricut Alphalicious cartridge. To finish the jar off, I tied color coordinated ribbon on the handle of the cover and filled with the teachers favorite candy :)

:: Hockey Scrapbook ::
This is a collage of the hockey scrapbook for my daughter's hockey coach. This was a season-end gift to the head coach. Thanks to all the wonderful parents that took photos of the kids throughout the season and for sharing those with me.
I used many different cartridges but the one that I used most was the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge. I also purchased some of the embellishments at Michael's and Joann's. The scrapbook was purchased at Joann's.

:: Birthday Hat Card and Gift Box ::
My kids were invited to a last minute birthday party and by last minute, I mean like 2 hours notice. So I quickly made this card for the birthday boy! The party hat is from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge and the "happy birthday" is from the Stamping cartridge. I also made a triangle gift box and put money in it for the gift. The triangle gift box was made from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge.

:: Baby Boy Card ::
This was a baby boy card I made for a friend. I was having trouble creating this one. Things were just not feeling right. This is the end result which turned out okay. I did faux chipboard on the baby buggy. I saw a tutorial on making faux chipboard and thought it was great idea so I had to try it. The word "baby" is from the Cricut Stamping cartridge. This is shown as "oh baby" but I omitted the "oh". The baby buggy and the circle with scalloped edges are also from the Stamping cartridge.

:: School Project - Basketball ::
My son made this bag for a school project. It was a project that went along with a book report. His book was an autobiography on Kevin Garnett from when he was a MN Timberwolve player. We are from Minnesota so we have a connection to the Timberwolves. The Cricut cartridges used were: Sports Mania and Everyday Paperdolls.

:: Birthday Card ::
Here is just a simple birthday card I made for a 7-year old girl. I had a gift bag that I bought for her gift that had the big stars and hearts on it so I tried to coordinate it with that. The "happy birthday" is from the Cricut Stamping cartridge and the heart and star cuts are from Plantin Schoolbook.

:: Glass Etching ::
More glass etching! Again I used the palm tree design because it worked so well on the stemless wine glasses I did previously. The sun and palm trees are from Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge using the border function. They turned out so cute!

:: Hockey Players ::
My 7-year old daughter plays hockey, we were at a hockey tournament in San Diego over valentines day so we made a hockey player (from Cricut Everyday Paperdolls cartridge) that resembled each player on her team (hair color, hockey pants color, and added their jersey number) and passed them out on Valentine's Day! We attached a roll of Smarties under each hockey stick for a treat. Everyone loved them!

:: Valentine's Day ::
A valentine's box for my daughter to bring to school to get filled with goodies :) Of course, I had to make the little packets to put candy in!
As for the Cricut cartridges I used.... let's see if I can remember or tell where they are from. The "valentine's day" is from Designer's Calendar. The hearts were cut from several cartridges including, Doodlecharms, Gypsy Font, and Plantin Schoolbook. "Emma" was probably cut from Alphalicious.

I cut out "Laundry" in black vinyl and attached to the laundry door. I cut the font using SCAL and the brady bunch font set.
